Basic Life Support / Defibrillator (AED) Course

This is a one day course for up to 12 candidates with a minimum of 6 contact hours. The course involves both theoretical and hands on practical training. Each successful attendee will receive a certificate that is valid for a period of 3 years.

The Syllabus includes:

  • Introduction (Function and purpose of an AED)
  • Safe Incident Management (A systematic approach to managing all incidents)
  • Chain of Survival
  • Basic Life Support (to include CPR and choking)

Emergency First Aid at Work Course (EFAW) Course

The Emergency First Aid at Work Course was introduced by the Health and Safety Executive in 2009. It is a one day course suitable for members of small to medium sized, low hazard workplaces, like offices and is also suitable for individuals looking for a course which will cover all of the essential lifesaving first aid techniques. The course involves both theoretical and hands on practical training. Each successful attendee will receive a certificate that is valid for a period of 3 years.

The First Aid at Work Course is a 3 day course suitable for members of medium to large sized, medium to high hazard workplaces, like offices or factories and is also suitable for individuals looking for a course which will cover all of the essential lifesaving first aid techniques in greater depth than the one day course. The course involves both theoretical and hands on practical training. Each successful attendee will receive a certificate that is valid for a period of 3 years. A half day annual refresher course is recommended.

The First Aid at Work Course is a 2 day course suitable for those wishing to requalify in First Aid at Work. The course involves both theoretical and hands on practical training. Each successful attendee will receive a certificate that is valid for a period of 3 years. Those wishing to attend this course must be in possession of a valid (no less than 28 days out of date) First Aid at Work Course (FAW).

Paediatric Course (6 Hrs)

The course is designed for Nannies who wish to join the voluntary part of the Ofsted Childcare Register (OCR). It is also suitable for babysitters, au pairs, teachers, parents or anyone who cares for children requiring basic paediatric first aid course. The course involves both theoretical and hands on practical training. Each successful attendee will receive a certificate that is valid for a period of 3 years.

Paediatric Course (12 Hrs)

The 12 hour paediatric course is designed for childminders, nursery and school staff (dealing with Early Years Foundation Stage) and anybody who interacts with children and wants a more in-depth course.

The course is in line with the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and meets the requirements of Ofsted and local authorities.

The Syllabus includes:

  • Planning for first aid emergencies
  • Dealing with emergencies
  • Resuscitation
  • Recognition and management of shock (Anaphylaxis, hypovolaemia)
  • Electric shock

Epipen / Anaphylaxis Course

The course is a half day course suitable for candidates wishing to extend knowledge on anaphylaxis and use epipens in an emergency. Each successful attendee will receive a certificate that is valid for a period of 3 years.
